All About Me!!!
I knew as a little girl that I wanted to be a teacher. I remember as a child playing school with my younger brothers, and I was ALWAYS the teacher. I loved school and was always eager to learn new things every day! I grew up in the small town of Plato Center, Illinois and attended Burlington Central High School. As a high school student I took classess as Elgin Community College in early childhood and development. After high school I attended Carthage College in Kenosha, WI. where I earned a degree in Elementary Education and Psychology. After college I received training to become a Reading Recovery teacher from Whitewater University. I have recently completed a master's program and received a master's degree in Reading and Literacy from Benedictine University.
I have been teaching first grade for 12 years. This is my seventh year at Lake in the Hills Elementary School and I consider myself very lucky to work in such a wonderful school with amazing students and families. I love coming to my job every morning and seeing the same eagerness in my students that I had as a student.
My Family
My husband and I have been married for eight years. We have two sons, Brady and Camden, and they amaze me every day with the way they grow and learn. Brady is 4 and attends preschool. He loves school, just like his mommy. Camden is almost 3, and is as big as his brother. He loves trains and tractors. They both love coming to school events with me. I love spending time with my family. I enjoy being outdoors and playing sports. During my free time I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, and swimming. We have lived in Woodstock for five years.
